Brisbane forum of youth justice opened by Di Farmer

The 2018 Queensland Youth Justice Forum was a joint collaboration between the Queensland Chapter of Restorative Practices International, Griffith University’s School of Criminology and Criminal Justice and the Griffith Criminology Institute, to help promote a collaborative approach amongst agencies working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people who are at risk of, or are entering the youth justice system.

Chaired by Serge Loode, representing Restorative Practices International, the Forum was held at the Ship Inn, South Bank, Brisbane, a campus of Griffith University, on 18 July 2018.

Attendees were invited from universities, justice, courts, police, education and victim support and the community. Welcome to Country was undertaken by Uncle Des Sandy, with the Forum being formally opened by the Honourable Di Farmer, Queensland Minister for Child Safety, Youth and Women, and addressed by four keynote speakers.
